Building
All 19th Floor Points of Presence and facilities follow very strict standard. These standards are put in place to ensure the security and continuity of our systems and the systems of our clients, at all times. Some of the very basic requirements include; empty pipe fire suppression and/or VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus); Halon, Intergen, or some other form of clean-agent fire extinguishing system; private cages or rooms for added physical access security and control over Colocated equipment; overhead cable rack (tray) and fiber guide, power cables usually on separate rack from data; raised floor or additional cooling capacity; low-impedance electrical ground.
Electrical
19th Floor facilities all have diesel fuel, high-power generators that are configured to start up automatically when utility power fails. These generators are based on different levels of redundancy insuring continuous power at all times, indefinitely. Because generators do not start up instantaneously, our facilities have battery backup systems (UPS) capable of holding the load until the generators kick-in.
Cooling
Cooling is provided via industrial air conditioning units, ensuring that your all equipment remain at an acceptable cooled temperature at all times. Cooling systems include a degree of redundancy and are previsioned for all square footage of the facility.
Security
Professional, trained security guards are placed at the entrance of each location 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A security card key system, monitoring and restricting access to certain areas of our fully-secured facilities coupled with Cabinet key based entry, ensure the safety and protection of your Colocated systems. In addition, a digital camera system, setup to monitor every entrance into and out of the Colocation facilities is setup and installed in every hallway and private room, recording all activity 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Amenities
At each of our 19th Floor Colocation facilities you'll always find an LCD wall mounted monitor, wired and wireless keyboards and mouses, tool sets, ladder, Cat6/Cat5e network cable, RJ-45 connectors, a connection integrity checker, power testers, power cables and other amenities. These tools have been placed at our locations so you don't have to worry about lugging them around with you, in case emergency situations arise.
Cabinets
Following a valuable industry standard, our cabinets are 19 inch rack-mountable and feature fully louvered, individually-locking doors and allow for 40 Units of storage space. They come with industry-standard, anti-static floors and are properly vented to increase air flow. Cabinets are setup in rows, side-by-side and use back-to-front cooling which employ a hot-isle/cool-isle design increasing cooling efficiency, allowing systems and hardware to run smoother.
Access
Customer's leasing Cabinets are offered the privilege of having full access to their Colocated equipment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without the need of an escort. Prior to granting such access, 19th Floor reserves the right to perform a detailed background security check. For client's requiring escorted access, appointments can be scheduled for same day access 7 days a week all year long.
